The name Green Mile is because Death row(where the death penalty is given) has a green floor. The movie revolves around the relationship between the jail staffs and the prisoners and who could forget Mr Jingles (a rat). This movie is so well made that even a little pain to this rat will make you weep.

John Coffey is a mystery person, or you can describe him as a godly person. The movie which started to make us feel like a crime drama turned out to be more than that. Fantasy, humour, this movie got everything.

There are several sequences of powerful emotion in the film. The way all the actors acted, the strong cast is making this film a must-watch. It was nominated for four Oscars, best picture, best supporting actor, best writing & screenplay and best sound.
The length is about three hours but the film never drags nor a dull moment. The length is indeed necessary for proper detailing of each thing. There is so much emotion, you will weep in the end.
What you want to watch it? Excellent! Don’t forget the tissue with you.
